Hello, my name is René Werlen.

For me, nature is more than just a place to relax – it is a living environment full of wonders, stories and interconnections. Spending time mindfully in the Alps, observing wildlife and understanding natural processes are at the heart of my work.

As a native of Valais, I have been exploring the mountains since childhood. This deep connection to the region, combined with my many years of experience, enables me to plan tours meticulously and offer my guests authentic insights into the region.

As a mechanical engineer, I have deliberately reduced my workload to pursue my passion as a qualified hiking guide.

​

Analytical thinking, structured planning and alpine experience help me to assess risks realistically and make well-informed decisions. Safety and a respectful approach to people and nature are my top priorities, ensuring my guests enjoy a safe, authentic and sustainable mountain experience.

 

For selected tours and group offers, I work with established mountain accommodations in the Val d'Anniviers, including the Cabane d'Illhorn and the Hotel Weisshorn .
